Waivers

Mountain activities involve inherent risks, including changing weather, terrain, and other hazards. Before participating in any program with Howatt Mountain Guides, all participants are required to read and sign a waiver.

Waiver

Booking and Deposits

For programs under $1,000, full payment is required at the time of booking.

For programs over $1,000:

  • A 25% deposit is required to book and secure your spot.

  • Full payment is due 30 days before the trip.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of booking receive a full refund, provided the trip is more than 15 days away.

  • Cancellations more than 30 days before the trip forfeit the deposit.

  • Cancellations within 30 days of the trip forfeit the full program fee.

  • Bookings may be transferred to another participant who meets the program prerequisites.

  • If Howatt Mountain Guides is required to cancel a program, all participants will receive a full refund.

  • Rescheduling private bookings may be accommodated where possible, but is subject to availability.

Prices

  • Prices do not include GST.

  • Unless otherwise specified, prices do not include transportation, food, or accommodation.

  • Every trip is different, which is why our prices are listed as “starting at.” Final pricing may vary depending on the trip, objectives, duration, and specific requirements.

  • Tips are always appreciated as a way to recognize a great trip. Most tips are in the range of 10–20%.

  • We do not accept Venmo.

  • E-transfer, cash, cheque, or card are accepted.

  • Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee.

Weather and Conditions

  • Mountain weather and conditions can change quickly.

  • Trips and objectives may be adjusted based on current conditions.

  • Participants should be prepared to adapt and remain flexible.

  • Howatt Mountain Guides will make every effort to operate programs in a range of weather conditions.

  • If Howatt Mountain Guides cancels a trip due to weather or mountain conditions, participants will receive a full refund or the option to re-book.
